And for now on, one more journey begins…

Materials: one word which is so loose as essential. The Materials command our lifes and bring us the light to the World that we know. The Materials are in the houses we live, in the clothes we wear, in the books we read, in the games we play. A subject of such importance in the quotidian of a society which is finding itself absolutely dependent of Materials is worth deserves to be highlighted with due emphasis, and so there is deemed necessary event to match.
Therefore, it is with great pleasure that the students of the Department of Materials Science, Faculty of Science and Technology, New University of Lisbon presents the realization of the IV National Meeting of Students Materials to be held on 6 and 7 March 2014 on campus of FCT / UNL.
It is our goal that all stakeholders in the field, Students and PhD students from the course and, going through all the other people who, although not directly related to the Materials, isn’t without scientific interest or sheer curiosity in this area, feel themselves attracted to participating in an event which aims to promote the exchange of knowledge, sharing of experiences and implementation and development of the applicant union around the materials , according that at the end each participant can grasp a little better of what it is done in industrial and investigational terms level of Materials Engineering in Portugal and elsewhere in Europe . To help us on this job, we have a diverse panel of speakers in order to address topics related to their area of expertise, from Ceramics, Metals, Polymers, Liquid Crystals and Microelectronics, among others. We will have the honor of hosting international speakers who bring us their vision of the Present and Future of Materials and an alternative way of approaching the subject.
